Mas Bleu started out as a horse stable. It was restored slowly, room by room, and it has been welcoming groups ever since.
What surprises people first is the scale. The dining room opens straight onto the outdoors, which is where most meals end up lasting three hours. The game room is soundproofed, so the teenagers can be as loud as they like while everyone else reads by the pool. Six bedrooms, four bathrooms and a separate WC, and enough separate corners that a group of sixteen never has to be in the same place at once unless it wants to be.

Eight people can spread out here without ever queueing for a bathroom, and plenty of groups do exactly that. But something happens when every bedroom is full: the long table stops being long enough, the game room runs past midnight, and the garden holds four conversations at once. These are the groups who keep coming back.
The same house produces completely different holidays depending on who fills it. These are four real shapes a five day stay tends to take, built from what guests have actually done.
Two or three families, a spread of ages from four to seventy. The trick is that nobody has to agree on a plan. There is always a group at the pool and a group going somewhere, and they swap over by Wednesday.
Twelve to sixteen adults, no children, a programme with some shape to it. Mornings are structured, afternoons are not. The walled garden and the soundproofed rooms mean a group can be quiet here in a way most rental houses cannot manage.
A group who would rather be moving. The house becomes a base camp: leave early, come back filthy, swim, eat enormously, sleep. The Vaunage greenway starts round the corner and the Camargue and the Cévennes are both inside an hour.
Sixteen friends in their twenties or thirties. A hen weekend, a birthday, or no occasion at all. Late starts, long dinners, the game room after midnight, and two cities within half an hour when the pool stops being enough.
Attached to Mas Bleu is a separate four bedroom house we call the Pavillon. Most bookings are for Mas Bleu on its own, and that suits most groups perfectly well. When a group outgrows six bedrooms, we are happy to add the Pavillon for an additional cost.
It works particularly well for the grandparents who want their own front door, for a second family who would rather not share a landing, or for a wedding party that needs somewhere to put the overflow.

Five private bedrooms, each with its own character, and a separate soundproofed dormitory that children have been refusing to leave for years — six sleeping rooms in all. Every room has its own linen and towels, and air conditioning in the sleeping areas.
A separate soundproofed room lined with six double beds, and space for two more full-size inflatable mattresses down the middle when a group needs them. Sixteen people can sleep in here at a push, which is why it tends to be the teenagers' territory. It is the sixth of the six bedrooms, and the only one that is shared.

Sommières is a medieval town on the Vidourle river, in the Gard department of Occitanie, in the historical region of Languedoc, sitting between Nîmes and Montpellier. The house is in the heart of it, and everything in town is within walking distance. The exact address is shared once your booking is confirmed.
Sommières grew up around the river Vidourle, and it has been doing so for two thousand years.
In the first century AD the Roman bridge was built here on the orders of the Emperor Tiberius, carrying the road from Nîmes to Toulouse across the water. It is still standing, and people still live on it, which makes it one of the very few inhabited bridges left in Europe.
Above the town, on a rocky spur, the castle has been enduring sieges since the eleventh century. Inside the chapel an interactive display walks you back through the history of both the castle and the town.
Part of Sommières is a classified protected heritage site, with a conservation policy that keeps it looking the way it does. Which is to say: you are staying inside a listed medieval town, three minutes from your front door.

There is no minimum. The house is rented whole, so some couples take it for an anniversary. Most groups are between eight and eighteen people.
Yes, we love animals. We just ask that you clean up after them in the gardens. Let us know in advance so we can plan for them.
Yes. Ceremonies in the garden and dinner in the courtyard both work beautifully, and we can put you in touch with florists, caterers and musicians we trust. Large-scale parties are not permitted, and noise needs to come down after 22:00 out of respect for our neighbours. Tell us what you have in mind and we will be honest about whether it fits.
It is built for swimming laps, not just cooling off. Deep at both ends and shallow through the middle, with a kiddie entrance where small children can sit and play before moving to the shallow side or swimming out to the deeper ends. Heated through the warmer months, with a technician visiting weekly.
Not as standard, but you are two minutes from a supermarket and a short walk from the village market. We can arrange a welcome platter, a grocery delivery, or a private chef for one night or every night. See the concierge menu above.
Very. Groups have run seminars here more than once. The dining room doubles as a meeting room, the wifi handles simultaneous video calls without complaint, and the soundproofed game room gives people somewhere to switch off between sessions.
Yes. There is parking on the property for four large vehicles, and free public parking three minutes' walk away with no limit on how long you leave a car there. One thing worth knowing: the village streets are narrow, so a smaller hire car will save you some careful reversing. Electric vehicle charging is not available on site.
Yes, and it costs you nothing. Guests have free access to the village courts, a few minutes from the house, and rackets are provided. Tell us you would like to play, either when you enquire or once you have arrived, and we arrange the court for you.
The house has steps and stairs throughout, so it is not suitable for wheelchair users. Tell us about any access needs when you enquire and we will be honest about whether it works for you.

The deposit becomes non-refundable after fourteen days. The balance is refundable up to sixty days before arrival. After that we will do our best to rebook the dates and refund whatever we can.
